About us

Our Beliefs:

We believe God is the all-powerful, all-knowing Creator. That God is the Father Almighty, who created the heaven and earth. We believe in the Trinity, the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ; our Lord was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and was born of the virgin Mary. We believe Jesus Christ was the sacrificial lamb for our sins. We believe that Jesus was crucified, that He died, was buried and He rose on the third day. We believe that Jesus ascended into the heavens and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father. We believe He will come again to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting.

Our Vision:

To be a ministry of believers devoted to spreading the love of Christ through worship, prayer, discipleship, bible study, and outreach in an effort to see people saved, healed, empowered and equipped to serve in God's kingdom.

Our Mission:

To use Worship, Ministry, Evangelism, Fellowship and Discipleship to inspire people to be saved and serve in God’s Kingdom.

CHURCH PROFILE

Introduction

New Beginning Christian Fellowship Church (NBCFC), a Baptist affiliated congregation, is a predominantly African-American congregation. NBCFC was formally established on May 26, 2016, and has an average Sunday worship attendance of approximately 100 people.

Our mission is to be a ministry of believers devoted to spreading the love of Christ through worship, prayer, discipleship, Bible study, and outreach in an effort to see people saved, healed, empowered and equipped to serve in God's kingdom.

History

NBCFC began as a group of believers who felt compelled to depart our former church in January 2016.  The group was scattered like sheep wandering in the wilderness trying to find another church home and remain connected as a church family. As members of the former church, we had come to love each other like family. The desire to stay together led us to continue meeting and finding opportunities to fellowship with one another.

After two fellowship gatherings in February 2016, we decided to continue worshipping God together as a family. A suggestion was made to start our own church. While this idea seemed like a monumental undertaking, we stepped out on faith and allowed God to direct our paths.  Everything we needed to start a church was already within our group – ministers, deacons, musicians, sound technicians, praise team members, ushers, Sunday school teachers, and most of all, we shared the love of God. The journey to start the new church began.

A “seed committee” was formed to coordinate Sunday worship services and start the official process of forming the church. On March 6, 2016, we began holding worship services at the Herb Young Community Center in Cary, NC. After considering several names, we unanimously agreed to become “New Beginning Christian Fellowship Church” (NBCFC). A “new beginning” had arrived.

After much prayer and searching, God provided us with a permanent place to worship. We moved into a building previously occupied by a church that moved to a new sanctuary. On November 13, 2016, we held our first worship service at the new location, 111 Towerview Court, Cary, NC 27513. The first full service was led by ministers who stayed with us and were instrumental in moving God’s vision forward.

Our journey has not been easy, but we have come a long way and still have a long way to go to complete our mission. On December 9, 2017, we held a New Member’s Reception and became official members of New Beginning Christian Fellowship Church.

Dr. Hammond served as our Interim Pastor in 2017. He provided leadership and coordinated a host of Pastors to lead Bible Study and preside over the Sunday Service for several months. The Pastoral Search Committee reviewed several candidates and recommended a potential candidate that was voted in by the congregation in June 2018. However due to a breakdown in the contract negotiations and other concerns expressed by the congregation there was another vote to remove this Pastor in the Fall of 2018. Another Interim Pastor  Rev. Gary Wall was selected by the congregation in the Spring of 2019.In October of 2019, Rev. Wall was elected to be our permanent Pastor. January 12, 2020 an Installation Service was held at Poplar Springs Christian Church for Reverend Wall. A reception was held afterwards in their Fellowship Hall.

Local Community

NBCFC is located in the town of Cary, North Carolina, in the heart of the state’s renowned Research Triangle Park region within close proximity of Raleigh and Durham. Cary is repeatedly recognized by several major publications as one of the “Best Places to Live” in America. It is the seventh largest municipality in the state with more than 160,000 residents. Cary is divided into distinct east and west regions. East Cary is home to the downtown area, as well as, the town’s oldest neighborhoods. West Cary is much newer and is visibly more affluent. Almost completely suburbanized, the area features sprawling neighborhoods, parks, lakes, and golf courses, most notably those associated with the Preston community. Cary’s excellent public schools are part of the Wake County Public School System, which is the largest public school system in North Carolina. There are 5 high schools, 6 middle schools, 19 elementary schools, and 9 private schools. Public transit within the town is provided by GoCary, with six fixed routes. GoCary provides door-to-door transportation for senior citizens (60+) and riders with disabilities. The Cary Amtrak train station provides service to Charlotte, New York City, Miami and intermediate points.

Church Life As it is Now

We are a Bible based church that believes in the power of prayer. NBCFC is characterized by a warm, close-knit fellowship. Unity and community are the dominant values. The focus is inward and people-oriented. The congregation sees ourselves as the “household of faith” (Galatians 6:10) and the family of God. NBCFC is governed by an interim pastor, deacons and deaconesses. Other officers include trustees, treasurer, finance committee, and church clerk. Our ministries include Christian Education (Sunday school and children’s church), music (praise team, mass choir, male chorus, sound technicians, and musicians), Praise Dance, ushers and greeters, benevolent and hospitality. All members of these ministries are volunteers who were moved by God to exercise their spiritual gifts.

Our Sunday services include Sunday School from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. and morning worship at 10:30 a.m. Our worship service includes prayer, scripture, praise and worship, and the preached word. Bible Study is held on Wednesday evenings and includes prayer and Bible study from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Church Vision for the Future

Our vision as a group of believers is to spread the love of Jesus Christ and equip people to serve God. Key goals for achieving this vision are to connect church members with the surrounding community in order to build God’s kingdom; help current members grow spiritually and increase their understanding and knowledge of the Bible so that they can live a life that is pleasing to God; and create an environment that reaches people of all ages, races, and ethnic backgrounds.
