Pastor - Elect Markez D. Mills
Pastor Mills' journey in the Christian faith began in 2004, when he took up the role of a church drummer, a position he still holds dear. His dedication and service led to his ordination as a Deacon in the Lord's church in 2015, and his subsequent licensing as a minister in 2018. His impactful tenure as a youth and young adult minister, marked by the salvation and rededication of numerous lives, is a testament to his faith and ability to connect with younger generations. He has also served as a director of evangelism and protocol.
Pastor Mills is known up and down the East Coast and West for his graphic design and branding expertise. On his entrepreneurial journey, he was interviewed by Fox8 News, which reaches all across the triad. Pastor Mills is pursuing his theological studies at Carolina Christian College, where he is currently pursuing his Biblical Studies degree. He is also the author of his E-book, "Doing What You Thought Couldn't Do, " A Manual for Aspiring Entrepreneurs. Mills values his family the most outside of ministry and business. In December 2019, Rev. Mills married the beautiful, gifted, and talented Makayla Mills, a native of Reidsville, NC, and a graduate of Liberty University. Together, they have two beautiful children, Malani and Mayson Mills.
Pastor Markez Mills formerly served as the executive pastor at The Ebenezer Church in Burlington, NC, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Larry Covington. In this role, he supervised the church's daily operations, including administration, management of up to 40 plus ministries and their leaders, and assisted with vision casting. He also served as a preaching partner to Pastor Covington, demonstrating his leadership and organizational skills.
As executive pastor, he was responsible for leading the Ebenezer couples and evangelism ministries. In addition, Pastor Mills currently serves as a board member for the Family Abuse Service of Alamance County. Pastor Mills is a teacher/preacher of the Gospel and seeks to communicate it in a way that applies to the listener, transforming them for the better. His heart and passion are to see God's people win in each area of their lives.
